Quality Engineer

Location: Camarillo, CA

Position Summary

A reputable company in the electronics manufacturing and motion control industry is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to serve as a key liaison between customers and internal teams on technical and quality-related matters.

This role provides cross-functional support to manufacturing and engineering teams, focusing on resolving product quality issues, driving process improvements, and ensuring compliance with quality management systems and industry standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a primary point of contact for customers regarding quality and technical concerns
  • Support manufacturing and engineering teams to resolve product and process issues
  • Perform root cause analysis and lead corrective actions using methodologies such as 8D
  • Develop and implement quality standards and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Monitor and analyze quality performance data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
  • Maintain and support the Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with ISO standards
  • Participate in and support internal and external audits
  • Maintain documentation including procedures, records, and forms
  • Control non-conforming materials and oversee calibration schedules
  • Provide IPC-related training and guidance as needed
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, suppliers, and customers
  • Support safety and compliance initiatives
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or scientific discipline (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in quality engineering within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in high-volume manufacturing, automation, or electronics production preferred
  • Working knowledge of industry standards including:
    • ISO 9001:2015
    • IPC-A-600
    • IPC-A-610
    • J-STD-001
  • Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach to quality improvement
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and respond effectively to production needs

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, and use hands for extended periods
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.

Work Schedule

  • Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Based in a manufacturing facility in Camarillo, CA
  • Additional hours and overtime may be required based on business needs

Compliance Requirement

This position is subject to U.S. export control regulations (ITAR). Candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Lawful Permanent Residents.


Compensation

$72,000 - $100,000 annually

Compensation is determined based on experience, skills, education, and market factors.
